19-year-old Coco Gauff will be participating in the 2023 Bank of Communications Zhengzhou Open, which starts on October 9th. Gauff recently made headlines by winning her first Grand Slam singles title at the US Open. She expressed her excitement to continue her success and finish the year strong. Gauff, currently ranked World No.3, will be joined by other notable players such as Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, Grand Slam finalist Ons Jabeur, and the in-form Maria Sakkari. Expect a spirited performance from rising star Qinwen Zheng, who will have strong support from the Chinese fans as she competes for the prestigious WTA 500 title. This year’s tournament will be held at a new venue, the Henan Provincial Stadium Center, which includes a state-of-the-art 5,000-seater stadium, a 2,000-seater Grandstand Court, and extensive practice facilities. The event will feature a WTA 500 category, with a total prize money of US$780,637. It will have a 32-player singles draw (including 4 byes) and a 16-player doubles draw.
