The men’s final at the US Open was set after Friday’s action. Novak Djokovic, a 23-time Major winner, defeated Ben Shelton 6-3, 6-2, 7-6(4) and will now face third seed Daniil Medvedev on Sunday.

Alcaraz, the defending champion of the event, was eliminated by 2021 winner Medvedev, who won the match 7-6(3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Djokovic and Medvedev have faced each other 14 times, with Djokovic leading the head-to-head record 9-5. Medvedev emerged victorious in their last meeting in Dubai, U.A.E. earlier this year.

Sunday’s final will mark the fourth time the two players have met in a Major final.
