AI Photo Editor Review: Hands-On With Adobe Photoshop Generative Fill
Generative fill also features a cut tool that can easily remove unwanted elements from your photos. Simply activate the selection tool and outline the area you would like to remove and replace with generative fill. Using just a short text prompt you can make quick adjustments to your image, such as adding clouds to the sky. When your AI image is created it is added to a new generative layer.
Remove Tool is particularly powerful when removing larger objects while respecting boundaries between objects. For example, this tool can remove an entire building or car from a mountain landscape image while maintaining the fidelity of the Yakov Livshits mountainous terrain. Drop your image into PS, then use the Crop tool to extend the canvas to the size you want. Generative Fill relies on Adobe Firefly, a suite of creative, generative AI models developed to ensure commercial safety.
It analyzes various aspects of the photograph, including lighting, style, and perspective, before using generative AI to create visually stunning results. This powerful tool allows users to bring their visions to life quickly and easily. Canva AI is a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools that help you create beautiful designs faster Yakov Livshits and easier. With Canva AI, you can generate text, remove background, edit photo and create illustrations. Leonardo AI is a generative AI platform that allows users to utilize artificial intelligence to generate amazing images and artwork. Leonardo AI is still in development, but it has created quite a stir in the creative community.
If you’re still not sure how to use it and what it can do, please keep reading! To begin your Generative Fill journey, you’ll first need to install the Photoshop app on your desktop. Simply head over to the Beta apps section in your Creative Cloud desktop app and click on “Install” next to Photoshop (Beta). Once installed, you can dive into the realm of Generative Fill and unlock its creative capabilities. I know many, many of you are tired of hearing about AI, and I get it.

However, by selecting “Save a Copy,” this offers the usual array of file types. If I print it on paper or metal, I don’t lose 1.5 inches of the periphery. But for many printers, a canvas wrap is very different. I found this to work much quicker and more easily than using Content Aware Fill. First, I selected the area of the sky where I wanted my flying saucer to go.
Outside of photojournalism where there are strict requirements, that is simply not done. Expecting the behavior to change just because more powerful tools have become available is silly. Like our perception of reality, which many physicists feel is false, that what we see is a construct of our brain, photography, which has all been manipulated, think of the Fairy in the Garden photos. Photograph has always been an art, editing, enhancing, changing, AI-ing, photoshopping, so it goes..doesn’t make it any less joyous walking around with a camera and enjoying capturing pictures. It’s also worth mentioning that the Generative Layers can dramatically increase the size of the Photoshop file (or layered TIFFs that are created when sending a photo from Lightroom). The photo of the van above with multiple background variations ended up occupying 2.67 GB as a layered TIFF.

OM System (formerly Olympus) has released the Tough TG-7, the successor to the highly rated TG-6. The camera’s core features haven’t changed, but the TG-7 gains a refined grip, new interval and ‘construction’ modes, interval shooting, and a USB-C connector. This week, Adobe officially launched its Firefly suite of generative AI tools, and incorporates several AI tools into Creative Cloud – but users will need to pay for performance with ‘credits’. Late last year, Panasonic’s trusty standard F2.8 zoom got a Leica makeover for its 10th birthday.
While there are still some debates about artificial intelligence-generated images, people are still looking for the best AI art generators. If the AI-generated content looks great overall but you notice a few distractions, you don’t need to keep clicking Generate hoping for a perfect result. Instead, use Photoshop’s Remove Tool, another new AI-powered feature, to easily clean them up. Now that we have our background, let’s add a couple of accents. Start by creating a selection in the water with the lasso tool.
Adding skies and other elements
Or you can select objects you want to remove from an image and use Generative Fill without a specific text prompt to let the tool determine how to fill the missing area. While not the most polished AI tool out there, Adobe’s first attempt at including an AI feature in Photoshop is quite inclusive. As you can see above, Photoshop AI intelligently identifies and removes objects from their native sceneries easily. You can even write new prompts to achieve different effects or expand the image canvas and have the AI add more details, which is even more impressive. Using the impressive AI-powered generative fill, you can alter images in nearly any way you imagine.
With the image below as an example, I’d like to introduce a formatting convention I’m using in this article. The red dashed lines represent the selections I made with the Lasso tool. The actual crawling ants selection interface wasn’t visible enough for the screenshots for this article, so I’ve turned all selections into red dashed lines for your viewing clarity. To create our glorious demo image, I used exactly two Photoshop tools. This draws a freehand shape on the screen that specifies a selection. As we’ve discussed previously, Adobe Photoshop has a beta out that adds a powerful feature it calls Generative Fill.
Thankfully, I was able to easily expand the canvas size in Photoshop Beta and use Generative Fill to seamlessly fill in the gap. The result is a more pleasing, pano-esque composition that places the duck front and center with plenty of breathing room on either side of its wings. In other words, that bench we’ve created above cannot be copied and pasted on its own to another part of the image, as the surrounding area will also be duplicated.
