Rolex Shanghai Masters: Arthur Fils Advances to Second Round
In Thursday’s action at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, fiery Frenchman Arthur Fils emerged victorious in the first round, defeating Pavel Kotov 6-1, 6-4.
Fils will now face No. 24 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the next round.
Meanwhile, Matteo Arnaldi, Diego Schwartzman, and Botic van de Zandschulp also secured their spots in the second round.
Unfortunately, Aslan Karatsev and Laslo Djere were not as fortunate, losing their first-round matches to Quentin Halys and Rinky Hijikata, respectively.
